A Word of Encouragement from Lois
by Lois Evans

Discovering contentment in the role that God has called you to is important in your ability to stand strong and have energy as a wife. As a wife and also if you are a mother, there will be many opportunities for you to serve those you love. Your goal is in discovering which opportunities God would have you put first.

Foremost, a nurturing of your relationship with God is of utmost importance. Let your children see how you depend on Him. Don’t be afraid to let them see you praying or studying your Bible. Don’t be afraid to speak openly about Him and what He is doing around you and teaching you.

The spiritual life is a life that must be nurtured and fed. We can so quickly become distracted by activities and demands that we end up neglecting the very most important thing of all. Without our personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we lose the impact of our testimony about Him to others.

Former pastor H.B. London writes, “The telltale signs of spiritual atrophy include relationships that are allowed to become superficial, activities that keep us from dealing with the mission, and a noticeable loss of imagination, creativity and zest.” Being an excellent wife begins by being an excellent child of the King and cultivating your relationship with Jesus.
